Mrs. Richards, who assisted me, was not only exceptionally attentive but also incredibly informative. She patiently addressed all my queries, enhancing my understanding of their products. What truly stood out was the freedom I had to explore the store at my own pace, without feeling rushed. Despite its modest size, every corner was meticulously presented, with products tastefully displayed, adding to the overall charm of the experience. My initial intention was to purchase Aqua Di Rose - Rose Water for my partner, but I couldn't resist leaving with a bar of Melegrano soap, which emits a truly divine scent. Additionally, Mrs. Richards graciously provided samples from the Aqua Di Rosa line for my partner to try, which was a delightful gesture. Overall, I extend my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Richards for creating such a welcoming atmosphere during my visit. With such an outstanding experience, I am certain that I will be returning to this branch of Santa Maria Novella in the near future.

I agree with Lynn Batty, that the scent has changed and not for the better. The old Melograno was more heady, and the overall concept has lost its old world charm and become new and flashy, doubtless as a result of private equity. When these heritage companies get sold the new owners start cutting corners to maximise profits! Well, who can blame them. But it’s a tragedy. I still use the Rosewater, melograno bath salts(not ruined yet) and melograno aftershave! The old bottles were DIVINE, new ones are not so chic, and one can’t open them up, as I loved to decant scent into my little travel bottles. And my goodness, much better for upcycling and recycling than these new throw-away-when-empty ones! Apart from these quibbles, Santa Maria novella is still lovely and we should be thankful it still exists!!
