This historic pharmacy is one of the oldest in the world. Founded in 1612, it's located very close to the Church of Santa Maria Novella. Its entrance is beautiful, and once you step inside, you feel like you've stopped in time. Everything is superbly maintained, and the most impressive thing is that it still operates today, no longer as a pharmacy, but as a perfumery. It's known for its high-quality products and for maintaining traditional methods in the production of its fragrances. They use natural ingredients and artisanal processes to create a wide range of perfumes, colognes, and other personal and household care products. Each of its fragrances has a bottle next to it so you can smell its aroma and choose which one you want to take home. So, every detail in the pharmacy is meticulously curated. The establishment, located in a former Dominican convent in Florence, is richly decorated with frescoes, antique furniture, and architectural details that reflect its long history. This preservation of the original style contributes to the unique and authentic atmosphere of the place, making a visit a historical experience as well as an opportunity to purchase its handcrafted products. Admission is free, and I think it's also a must-see on any visit to Florence.

Gorgeous place with amazing perfumes! I’ve received so many compliments on Cinquanta and Acqua della Regina, the latter famously worn by Catherine de Medici. This place is rich in history and definitely worth a visit

It's considered Europe's oldest pharmacy/herbalist. It caters to the nobility. If you're interested in fragrance, definitely go. I'm fascinated. Fragrances made using traditional distillation methods start at 200 euros. Just so you know. :)

I could not find the right male cologne but with the professional help of Simona it was easy to find various perfect Eau de Colognes for my partner. No wonder there was a queue at the door (which you can bypass if you just want to visit the store and not the museum) Well worth a visit.

PoJung Hsu (百百)

The interior is very nice. The fragrances are mainly for women, with a few unisex ones that can be worn. The store clerk is also very patient and introduces each perfume in three sentences: "elegance". But the overall shopping experience is very good.
